Cut from natural marble, Turkish Carrara White shows a Turkish quarry's take on classic Carrara, slightly bolder veining than the Italian original. Marble is a metamorphic stone formed when limestone is subjected to heat and pressure; its calcium carbonate body takes a high polish but is softer than granite and reactive to acids. It scores 3 to 4 on the Mohs scale and develops a natural patina over time that many designers prize. Marble is soft and porous compared to granite; treat it with the same care you'd give a hardwood floor or fine leather. Available through Fair Marble's Bridgeport, CT showroom; we keep slabs in our yard and ship statewide with white-glove fabrication and install.
