Cut from natural marble, Calacatta Marble shows the bold golden-gray veining that makes Calacatta the most-specified luxury marble. Marble is a metamorphic stone formed when limestone is subjected to heat and pressure; its calcium carbonate body takes a high polish but is softer than granite and reactive to acids. It scores 3 to 4 on the Mohs scale and develops a natural patina over time that many designers prize. Available in 2 cm or 3 cm thickness; slabs are sold individually so you can hand-select the exact piece for your kitchen. Available through Fair Marble's Bridgeport, CT showroom; we keep slabs in our yard and ship statewide with white-glove fabrication and install.
