Cut from a natural quartzite block, Platinum Black shows a deep saturated black with rich pigment density. Quartzite is a metamorphic stone, formed when quartz-rich sandstone is recrystallized under heat and pressure; it scores 7 on the Mohs scale (harder than granite or marble) and resists scratching and heat better than most natural stones. Best paired with mitred 45-degree edges or eased polished edges to highlight the natural movement. Available through Fair Marble's Bridgeport, CT showroom; we keep slabs in our yard and ship statewide with white-glove fabrication and install.
