Glacier Wave
Quartzite Countertop
Glacier Wave natural quartzite, premium hard-stone countertop from MSI.
- Natural quartzite
Glacier Wave reads as a warm cream-beige with soft variation across a metamorphic stone surface. Quartzite is a metamorphic stone, formed when quartz-rich sandstone is recrystallized under heat and pressure; it scores 7 on the Mohs scale (harder than granite or marble) and resists scratching and heat better than most natural stones. Sealing is recommended on installation and again every 1 to 2 years; the calcite content varies by slab, so etching can occur on acid contact. Available through Fair Marble's Bridgeport, CT showroom; we keep slabs in our yard and ship statewide with white-glove fabrication and install.
